At Classiq Technologies, we’re shaping the future of quantum computing.

Our mission is to make quantum computing practical and impactful by bridging the gap between hardware and real-world applications. Our platform enables developers and enterprises to design, optimize, and deploy quantum algorithms at scale, supporting teams from early exploration to production-ready quantum solutions across diverse hardware architectures.

Classiq is trusted by Fortune 500 leaders, leading research institutions, and global governments. We accelerate the quantum era by transforming advanced quantum theory into scalable, usable technology.

Quantum error correction and fault-tolerant quantum computing are central to the future of the industry and a strategic focus area at Classiq. Our R&D organization develops the technologies, software infrastructure, and workflows that will enable the transition from noisy quantum devices to practical logical quantum computing.

We are seeking a Quantum Error Correction Researcher to help develop the technologies that will power the next generation of fault-tolerant quantum computing systems.

As a Quantum Error Correction Researcher, you will drive the research and development of fault-tolerant quantum computing capabilities at Classiq. You will work on quantum error correction codes, logical qubit architectures, decoding strategies, fault-tolerant protocols, and resource-efficient implementations that are integrated into the Classiq platform.

Working closely with software engineers, quantum algorithm researchers, and hardware partners, you will help bridge the gap between cutting-edge research and practical solutions for real-world quantum computing systems.

What you'll do

  • Research and develop quantum error correction and fault-tolerant computing techniques
  • Evaluate and design quantum error-correcting codes, logical qubit architectures, and fault-tolerant protocols
  • Develop practical approaches that account for realistic hardware constraints and noise models
  • Analyze logical error rates, resource requirements, and performance tradeoffs
  • Design and evaluate decoding strategies and logical computation workflows
  • Build prototypes and reference implementations to validate new approaches
  • Collaborate with software engineers to integrate research outcomes into scalable software solutions
  • Work with hardware partners and internal stakeholders to align solutions with emerging quantum technologies
  • Contribute to Classiq’s long-term fault-tolerance roadmap and strategy

Who you are

  • Ph.D or M.Sc in Physics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field
  • Strong background in quantum computing
  • Hands-on experience in quantum error correction, fault tolerance, logical qubits, or quantum architecture
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience translating theoretical concepts into practical implementations
  • Ability to independently drive research projects from concept to validation
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills

Bonus points

  • Experience with surface codes, LDPC codes, bosonic codes, subsystem codes, or related fault-tolerant architectures
  • Experience with decoding algorithms and logical error analysis
  • Experience with resource estimation for fault-tolerant quantum computing
  • Experience with quantum software frameworks and simulators
  • Experience working with quantum hardware teams or hardware-focused research
  • Publications in quantum computing, fault tolerance, or quantum error correction
  • Strong software development skills in Python
